Voices of Faith: Regional Online Dialogue Circles Between Religious Communities on Crises and Social Cohesion in Syria, Palestine, and Sudan

Voices of Faith: Regional Online Dialogue Circles Between Religious Communities on Crises and Social Cohesion in Syria, Palestine, and Sudan
22 April 2026
Project Description

The project aims to strengthen social cohesion and community resilience in Syria, Palestine, and Sudan through structured dialogue among followers of different religions, addressing religious polarization and harmful narratives arising from crises.

It seeks to empower local peacebuilders, including youth, religious actors, and community leaders, by enabling them to collectively reflect on religious responsibility during times of crisis and to promote shared ethical commitments that reduce division.

The project will also present a practical, pilot model for interreligious dialogue in response to crises, producing measurable dialogue outcomes and issuing a regional statement of ethical commitment that can be replicated and expanded in other crisis-affected contexts across the Arab region.

Project Goals

The project will bring together 45 young religious and community actors from Syria, Palestine, and Sudan within six structured dialogue circles addressing issues related to religion, crises, and social cohesion.

Through facilitated discussions, participants will:

  • Identify harmful religious narratives,
  • Develop shared ethical principles, and
  • Contribute to drafting a regional statement of ethical commitment among followers of religions.

The initiative will conclude with a regional public forum and the implementation of a dissemination and outreach campaign, contributing to enhanced mutual understanding among followers of religions and supporting collaborative ethical engagement in crisis-affected contexts.
