Empowering Women in Mediation and Dialogue for the Two-State Solution

Empowering Women in Mediation and Dialogue for the Two-State Solution
18 January 2026

Empowering Women in Mediation and Dialogue for the Two-State Solution is a peacebuilding initiative that seeks to address the significant gap in women’s participation and influence in public discourse, particularly in negotiation, mediation, and dialogue processes related to the negotiated two-state solution. Despite clear evidence that women play a critical role in achieving inclusive and sustainable peace, their involvement in these spaces remains limited.

The project focuses on strengthening the capacities of women through targeted training in negotiation, mediation, and dialogue facilitation, alongside results-oriented strategic thinking. Building on lessons learned from past peace processes and the experiences of women engaged in peacebuilding efforts worldwide, the project equips participants with practical tools to engage meaningfully in public and political discussions related to peace and conflict resolution.

In parallel, the project works to enhance women’s participation in public discourse around the two-state solution by supporting the development of clear positions, messages, and demands that reflect women’s perspectives and priorities. It also produces advocacy tools and media content that highlight women’s contributions and underscore the importance of their meaningful inclusion in peace processes.

The project is implemented in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and is supported by the Palestinian Peace Coalition (PPC) with funding from the European Union. Through this support, the project contributes to advancing inclusive peacebuilding pathways and strengthening women’s influence in shaping negotiated and sustainable political solutions.

Project Description

Empowering Women in Mediation and Dialogue for the Two-State Solution is a peacebuilding project that responds to the persistent underrepresentation of women in public discourse, negotiation, mediation, and dialogue processes related to the negotiated two-state solution. Despite strong evidence demonstrating that women’s participation leads to more inclusive and sustainable peace outcomes, their influence in these spaces remains limited.

The project aims to strengthen women’s leadership and influence in peacebuilding by building their capacities in negotiation, mediation, and public dialogue facilitation, alongside results-oriented strategic thinking. Drawing on lessons learned from previous peace processes and the experiences of women engaged in peace efforts globally, the project equips participants with practical tools to engage effectively in complex political and public discussions.

In parallel, the project works to expand women’s participation in public discourse related to the two-state solution by supporting the articulation of clear positions, messages, and demands that reflect women’s priorities and perspectives. It also develops advocacy tools and media materials that highlight women’s contributions and emphasize the importance of their meaningful inclusion in mediation and negotiation processes.

Implemented in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, the project is supported by the Palestinian Peace Coalition (PPC)with funding from the European Union. Through this support, the project contributes to advancing inclusive peacebuilding pathways and strengthening women’s role in shaping negotiated, just, and sustainable political solutions.
