Palestine in the Path of Voices of Faith 360: Towards an Ethical Charter and an Advocacy Plan that Protects Justice and Dignity

As part of the Voices of Faith 360 project, a special workshop was held for the Palestine group to discuss how to develop an Ethical Charter and an Advocacy Plan tailored to the Palestinian context. This workshop was conducted within the regional track implemented by ACT for Conflict Resolution, in partnership with the Regional Network for Reconciliation and Forgiveness, and in cooperation with the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID).

The workshop focused on reviewing the draft ethical statement and exploring how it could be transformed from a general document into a practical tool for dialogue, awareness, and advocacy—particularly in light of the challenges faced by Palestinians in Gaza, Jerusalem, and the West Bank. These challenges include hate speech, displacement, demolitions, settlement expansion, and attempts to frame the Palestinian cause as a religious conflict rather than one of justice and rights.

Participants emphasized that the Palestinian context requires a unique reading, as hate speech cannot be separated from the reality of occupation and efforts to undermine Palestinian existence in all its forms. They stressed that Muslims and Christians in Palestine form a unified national fabric, and protecting this fabric demands religious and societal discourse that promotes justice, dignity, and citizenship, while rejecting exclusion or sectarian division.

This workshop represents a crucial step in turning dialogue into action, and in building religious and societal discourse that safeguards the Palestinian cause from being reduced to a purely religious issue. It reaffirms that the cause is fundamentally about justice, rights, and human dignity.
