Towards an inclusive and effective mediation network for persons with disabilities in Palestine
Within the framework of the project “Pathways to Inclusive Justice”, the first coordination meeting was held via ZOOM to activate a specialized mediation network for persons with disabilities in Palestine, with the participation of several human rights and community institutions working in the fields of disability and community justice.
The meeting discussed ways to move from the establishment phase to the practical activation of the network, including the roles and responsibilities of member institutions, mechanisms for coordination, referral, and follow-up, and the identification of clear contact points within each institution.
Participants also addressed the particular nature of disability-related disputes and emphasized the importance of adopting a rights-based and sensitive approach that takes into account power imbalances, confidentiality, data protection, and accessibility to justice.
