From Survey Insights to Actionable Steps: Voices of Faith 360 Continues Its Dialogue on Religion and Responsible Discourse
Under the "Voices of Faith 360" initiative, the fifth dialogue session was held with active participation from group members. The session featured the presentation and discussion of the project’s survey results, creating an open space to strategize future actions. The initiative is implemented by the ACT Conflict Resolution Foundation, in partnership with the Regional Network for Reconciliation and Forgiveness, and in cooperation with the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID).
Far from being a mere presentation of data, the session evolved into a rich discussion addressing the deeper questions raised by the survey: How can religion be used constructively to promote human dignity, values, and compassion? When does its employment in the public sphere become a driver of division or exclusion? And what is required to transition from dialogue to action?
The discussion emphasized the vital distinction between religion as a spiritual and moral value and its misuse in politics or public discourse. Participants underscored that countering hate speech does not weaken faith; rather, it safeguards its core moral message from misapplication while reinforcing its role in building trust, citizenship, and peaceful coexistence.
The session concluded with several strategic directives for the next phase, most notably:
Developing an action plan to advance the initiative's roadmap.
Formulating an advocacy campaign for the Moral Declaration.
Drafting a Code of Ethics for religious leaders.
Opening a broader network dialogue regarding the role and meaning of religion within society and the state.
Voices of Faith 360 continues to foster a safe, constructive space for dialogue—one that moves beyond identifying challenges to driving actionable steps that uphold human dignity, protect diversity, and promote responsible religious discourse during times of crisis.
