ACT Holds the Second Founding Meeting for a Specialized Mediation Network to Enhance Access to Justice for Persons with Disabilities
As part of the "Pathways to Inclusive Justice" project, ACT for Conflict Resolution continued its efforts to promote inclusive justice by convening the second founding meeting for a specialized mediation network. The meeting brought together representatives from human rights organizations, civil society organizations, and Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) to discuss the network's proposed internal regulations and operational framework, laying the foundation for a more inclusive and responsive mediation system in Palestine.
Held online via Zoom, the meeting provided a collaborative platform for participants to review and discuss the draft bylaws of the network, while sharing feedback and recommendations to ensure that the governance framework reflects the needs and perspectives of all member organizations.
Participants also exchanged views on the network's governance structure, working mechanisms, membership roles, and principles of shared ownership, with the aim of establishing a sustainable and collaborative mediation network capable of supporting safe and accessible alternative dispute resolution mechanisms for persons with disabilities.
The meeting forms part of a broader series of foundational consultations under the "Pathways to Inclusive Justice" project, which seeks to establish a specialized mediation network that promotes equitable access to justice and advances mediation practices that are inclusive, rights-based, and responsive to the needs of persons with disabilities.
ACT for Conflict Resolution remains committed to working alongside its partners to build a more inclusive and equitable mediation system that strengthens access to justice, promotes equality and non-discrimination, and supports the meaningful participation of persons with disabilities across Palestine.
