Launch of the First Founding Meeting to Establish a Specialized Mediation Network for Persons with Disabilities in Palestine
18 June 2026

June 15, 2026 - As part of the project “Inclusive Justice Pathways: Promoting Inclusive Dispute Resolution for People with Disabilities in Palestine,” the first founding meeting to establish a specialized mediation network for persons with disabilities was held via Zoom, with broad participation from representatives of rights-based and civil society organizations nominated to join the network.

The meeting marked an important step toward building the network. Participants reviewed and discussed the first three chapters of the proposed internal bylaw, which covered general provisions and definitions, the nature and scope of the network, as well as its vision, mission, and guiding principles.

The discussion also addressed membership criteria, approval mechanisms, and potential future development of the network as a coordinating platform specialized in mediation and disability-related dispute resolution.

Participants engaged in a constructive exchange on how to strengthen the network as a space for cooperation among organizations working in the disability sector, and to support the development of safer and more inclusive approaches to resolving disputes.

This initiative is part of broader efforts to develop alternative and safe mechanisms for dispute resolution and to promote greater inclusion and collaboration in addressing issues affecting persons with disabilities in Palestine.

The project “Inclusive Justice Pathways: Promoting Inclusive Dispute Resolution for People with Disabilities in Palestine” is implemented with the support of the European Union and Minority Rights Group Europe (MRGE), in partnership with the Civic Forum Institute.
