ACT and Partners Kick Off Peer Mediation Training Program in Gaza
14 June 2026

ACT for Conflict Resolution, in partnership with Aisha Association in Gaza, has kicked off a Peer Mediation Training Program involving 30 young participants from different age groups, with 15 participants from each partner organization.

The 20-hour program aims to equip participants with peer mediation skills and strengthen their ability to address conflicts peacefully, contributing to community peacebuilding and the promotion of a culture of dialogue and understanding.

Facilitated by trainer Mai Abu Ghazaleh, the program is delivered through a hybrid format combining online sessions via Zoom connecting Jerusalem and Gaza with in-person sessions hosted at the premises of the two partner organizations. The training continues despite the exceptional circumstances and challenges facing the Gaza Strip.

Reflecting on the first sessions, trainer Mai Abu Ghazaleh praised the participants’ dedication and enthusiasm despite the difficult conditions.

“Despite the challenges facing Gaza, participants continue to demonstrate remarkable resilience, creativity, and a genuine eagerness to learn,” she said. “Their commitment and active engagement have been truly inspiring, and we have witnessed a strong willingness to benefit from the training and apply these skills to support their communities and foster a culture of dialogue and understanding.”

ACT for Conflict Resolution continues to play an active role in supporting Palestinian communities and promoting peaceful approaches to conflict resolution. Despite the many challenges affecting the Gaza Strip, the organization remains committed to ensuring the continuity of its programs and expanding opportunities for young people to acquire the skills needed to become agents of positive change and contributors to more resilient and cohesive communities.

The Peer Mediation Training Program forms part of our ongoing efforts to empower youth and strengthen a culture of dialogue, cooperation, and peaceful conflict resolution within Palestinian society.
