Palestine Ahliya University and ACT Conflict Resolution Organization Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Enhance Legal Training and Community Service
Bethlehem/Jerusalem – On Sunday, May 17, 2026, Palestine Ahliya University and ACT Conflict Resolution Organization signed a joint Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening academic cooperation, providing practical training for law students, and developing joint community programs in the fields of arbitration, mediation, and conflict management.
The agreement was signed at the university headquarters, with Professor Dr. Imad Al-Zeer, President of Palestine Ahliya University, representing the first party, and Mr. Mohammed Hadiya, Chairman of the Board of ACT, representing the second party.
This memorandum stems from the shared vision of both parties to promote community service, reinforce the values of justice and citizenship, and integrate efforts to develop the capacities and skills of Palestinian youth, equipping them with the legal and professional expertise needed to enter the labor market.
Among the key areas of cooperation outlined in the two‑academic‑year agreement (2026/2027 and 2027/2028) are: practical enhancement for law students; specialized training courses for students and faculty in arbitration, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution; implementation of mediation sessions and mock trials to develop students’ professional skills; exchange of references, publications, and scientific research; and the organization of conferences, workshops, lectures, as well as preparation of studies and statistics related to the legal sector.
