Advanced Training Concludes with 15 Women to Enhance Women’s Role in Negotiation and Peacebuilding
Jericho – The ACT Conflict Resolution Foundation concluded an advanced training course in negotiation and mediation, held in Jericho over three days from April 16-18, 2026, with the participation of 15 women from diverse professional backgrounds.
The all-female session provided a safe and open space for discussion on the role of women in negotiation and mediation processes, and the importance of empowering them as peacebuilders. This aligns with the project's objectives, which aim to address the gap in women's participation and influence in public discourse, particularly in negotiation and mediation processes, and to facilitate dialogue related to a negotiated two-state solution.
The training combined theoretical and practical aspects, covering the fundamentals, stages, and skills of negotiation and mediation, along with practical exercises on building alliances and analyzing the interests of different parties. The training also focused on addressing power imbalances between parties and explored advanced methodologies for managing multilateral mediation through practical exercises, group discussions, and joint assessments.
As part of the project's focus on building women's capacities, enhancing their participation, and supporting women's experiences in peace processes worldwide, participants expressed their satisfaction with the training methods, emphasizing that it was a unique workshop that contributed to developing their professional paths and enhancing their knowledge in negotiation and conflict resolution.
This training is part of the "Empowering Women as Peacebuilders: Negotiation, Mediation, and Dialogue" project, which is implemented with the generous support of the Palestinian Peace Coalition.
