Ramallah, October 2025 — The ACT for Studies and Alternative Dispute Resolution held the founding meeting of the Network of Mediators and Peacebuilders in Palestine on Saturday, October 11, 2025, as part of its project “Mediation as a Tool for Peacebuilding”, supported by the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).

This initiative aims to strengthen the capacities of socially active youth to resolve conflicts through peaceful and constructive approaches, while establishing a sustainable coordination platform among local initiatives working in the field of mediation and dialogue.

The meeting opened with an overview of the network’s vision and mission, followed by discussions on its operational framework, membership guidelines, and coordination mechanisms. Participants also explored the role of local mediators in early intervention, trust-building, and referral processes between community stakeholders and partner institutions.

The session featured community-driven initiatives presented by youth activists addressing humanitarian and social challenges in the Palestinian context, highlighting strategies for mediation and mobilizing institutional and community support to achieve lasting solutions.

In a broader discussion segment, the meeting hosted guest speakers who reflected on post-war scenarios and future political options within the two-state framework, underscoring the crucial role of civil society and local mediators in creating safe spaces for dialogue and reducing tensions.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to hold the network’s second session next month to finalize its reference documents, operational plans, and the formation of specialized working groups to follow up on priority interventions across different Palestinian governorates.
