ACT for Conflict Resolution Plants the Seeds of Mediation with Gaza Lawyers: A Training Experience that Restores Confidence in Alternative Dispute Resolution
09 November 2025

ACT for Conflict Resolution has concluded a specialized online training program titled “Mediation as a Tool for Conflict Resolution in the Gaza Context,” held via Zoom with the participation of thirty lawyers—men and women—from across the Gaza Strip. The initiative comes as part of ACT’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of mediation as a fair and effective means of resolving community disputes, particularly amid the challenging circumstances facing Gaza.

The training was delivered by Mr. Mohammad Hadieh over 24 training hours throughout September and October 2025, covering the core concepts, stages, and ethics of mediation, as well as the mediator’s role in dialogue facilitation and conflict analysis. Participants engaged in practical exercises and real-life simulations reflecting the nature of conflicts within the Gazan context.

Through this program, ACT for Conflict Resolution continues to advance its mission of spreading the culture of dialogue and mediation and building the capacities of legal and community practitioners to resolve conflicts peacefully and constructively—contributing to greater social justice, understanding, and resilience within Palestinian society.
