ACT for Conflict Resolution concludes training on career awareness with the support of COMCEC
ACT for Conflict Resolution concluded a specialized training on career awareness for a group of youth within the framework of the project A Career Bridge: Enhancing the Employability of Al-Quds Youth, which falls under the umbrella of the Al-Quds Program and is funded by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation "COMCE
The last session was held on Sunday, August 31, 2025, led by trainer Dr. Luna Shamia, where the focus was placed on the practical approach to building and writing a CV, creating a professional LinkedIn profile, and highlighting one’s professional identity through it.
During the training, participants expressed the importance of the experience and its direct impact on developing their personal and professional skills. They emphasized that the program served as a practical step towards strengthening their presence in the job market and refining their tools for effective communication with employers.
Mayar highlighted that self-expression is the first key to success: “If you don’t present yourself properly, who will recognize your value? Those who know how to set their goals… reach faster.” Kareem noted that opportunities are built from small details: “A small step in the right presentation can open big doors for you.” For her part, Faten stressed that a CV is not just a document, but rather a reflection of one’s professional identity: “A CV is not just a piece of paper… it’s your image in front of any employer. Every word in your CV should highlight an achievement, not just a job title.” Meanwhile, Shaden underscored the importance of digital presence on employment platforms: “LinkedIn is not just a profile—it’s opportunities, connections, and job offers. A well-crafted LinkedIn profile can get ahead of your paper CV by a thousand steps.”
The trainer, Dr. Luna, emphasized that professional awareness is a cornerstone for law students. It provides them with practical tools to write a resume that reflects their competencies and to build a professional LinkedIn account that prepares them to enter the job market with confidence. The training was a unique experience with the students; they showed great enthusiasm and a genuine desire to develop themselves professionally.
This training is part of ACT’s efforts to provide a series of capacity-building workshops that aim to raise youth’s career awareness and empower them to enter the labor market with confidence and distinction.
