ACT launches the " Voices for Harmony: Combating Religious Hate Speech in the Arab Region" project
ACT, in partnership with the Regional Network for Reconciliation and Forgiveness in the Arab Region, organized a specialized online workshop on combating hate speech in Libya as part of the “Voices for Harmony: Combating Religious Hate Speech in the Arab Region” project. The workshop brought together more than 20 participants, including academics, religious leaders, civil society representatives, women, and youth, for a dialogue on hate speech and its various forms in Libya. The workshop was moderated and facilitated by Dr. Omar Jumaa from Libya.
The workshop successfully identified the root causes of the spread of hate speech and featured intensive discussion sessions to develop national strategies to promote social peace. It also announced the formation of a local working group to follow up on the outcomes.
This initiative strengthens the presence of ACT and the Regional Network for Reconciliation and Forgiveness in the Arab Region as strategic partners and active regional players in peacebuilding.
