20 May 2025

As part of ongoing efforts to empower women in conflict resolution and support community mediation, the second meeting for the launch of the Women's Unit in Al-Ubeidiya was held, bringing together eight participants to explore key aspects of mediation and its processes.

During the session, discussions focused on the mediator’s role and authority, as well as the types of conflicts that fall within the scope of mediation and those that do not. Additionally, participants engaged in practical training on the opening statement, which reinforces the principles of mediation and sets the stage for constructive dialogue.

A real-life conflict scenario was presented by the participants, allowing them to examine the mediator’s role in resolving disputes effectively. This hands-on exercise provided valuable insights into mediation techniques and best practices.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to empower women and enhance their role in fostering social stability and cohesion. Mediation serves as a vital tool for achieving fair and lasting solutions, and strengthening women’s involvement in this field contributes to a more balanced and understanding society.
