ACT for Conflict Resolution, in collaboration with the Law Department at Birzeit University, held a specialized training workshop for law students on Monday under the title “Mediation as an Alternative Dispute Resolution Tool.” The event was organized as part of a broader effort to enhance access to alternative dispute resolution methods for Jerusalemites, in partnership with the Ministry of Justice and with support from the Sawasya program.

The workshop brought together more than 90 students and was distinguished by its integration of both theoretical and practical components—a first-of-its-kind experience at the university. A mock mediation session was conducted, simulating a family dispute over inheritance-related property matters, with students actively role-playing the parties involved.

This hands-on experience greatly contributed to deepening the Students understanding of mediation concepts and processes, offering them new perspectives on resolving disputes outside the traditional court system.
