On Monday, December 16, 2024, ACT Institution for Conflict Resolution, in collaboration with the Women's Center of Ein AlSultan Refugee Camp, organized an awareness workshop titled "The Role of Mediation in Addressing Gender-Based Violence Issues." The workshop aimed to shed light on the importance of mediation as an effective tool in addressing conflicts and social issues related to gender-based violence, promoting social justice through peaceful means.
The workshop was attended by 33 women, including feminist activists, local community members, and individuals interested in social issues. Mr. Mohammad Hadiya, Chairman of the Board of ACT, delivered a detailed explanation of the concept of mediation, its tools, and mechanisms for its application in cases involving gender-based violence.
The session also addressed ways to enhance understanding between conflicting parties and achieve fair solutions that respect the rights of victims and prevent the escalation of conflicts. Participants emphasized the importance of intensifying such activities to raise community awareness and foster a culture of dialogue and peace.
The attendees expressed their appreciation for the efforts made by ACT and the Women's Center in highlighting these vital issues. They stressed the necessity of continuing joint efforts to strengthen community protection and combat all forms of violence.
