ACT for Conflict Resolution opens FIDIC Model 4 training in Palestine.

On Sunday, September 22, 2024, ACT for Conflict Resolution held the first meeting of the FIDIC Model 4 training via the Zoom application. This training comes within the framework of implementing the activities of the project to enhance Jerusalemites’ access to informal justice with the support of the Sawasiya 3 joint program.

Mr. Mamoun Atili, a representative of the Sawasiya 3 Joint Program, attended this meeting, where he stressed the importance of training on FIDIC contracts and the extent of the need to consolidate this training in the Jerusalem area. He also stressed the importance of strengthening the role of alternative means of resolving disputes as an alternative to resorting to the courts in Jerusalem and praised the effective partnership. In implementing many activities with ACT for Conflict Resolution and in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice.

Mr. Mohammad Hadieh- Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACT, stressed the importance of the joint Sawasiya 3 program and the activities it includes that are implemented for the first time at the level of Palestine, especially with regard to FIDIC training, which works to enhance the capabilities of arbitrators in Jerusalem to practice arbitration and reduce the chances of resorting to the courts in Jerusalem.

This training is provided by Dr. Engineer Nabil Abbas, a certified trainer for training on FIDIC contracts. The first meeting was attended by twenty-two participants, engineers and legal professionals, noting that this training consists of twenty training hours distributed over seven meetings, at a rate of three hours for each meeting, which will be completed during the months of September and October.
