On Sunday, 09/22/2024, ACT for Conflict Resolution, in cooperation with Insan Association for Women’s Development, held a workshop on the topic of gender-based violence in Al-Obeidieh, as part of the project to empower women to combat violence.

This was in the presence of Mr. Mohammad Hadieh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACT, Colonel Sufyan Zahlan - Director of the Family and Juvenile Protection Branch in the Hebron Governorate, and Professor Basma Jabareen - Legal Advisor and Director of the Safe House Axis Center.

The session was opened by Ms. Maryam Hassasna, a member of the Board of Directors of Insan Association for Women’s Development, and then the speakers touched on several topics, including highlighting the concept of violence and its forms, the role of women’s counselors, and the services provided by social development, in addition to highlighting the role of the Family and Juvenile Protection Branch in addressing issues related to violence. The role of mediation as an effective alternative method in resolving issues related to violence and the role of ACT and partner associations in receiving cases related to violence and providing specialized mediators who are impartial and impartial and maintain privacy, confidentiality and justice were also discussed.

 

This workshop was attended by 39 women, whose presence and participation had an impact in enriching the workshop with discussion and conversation about practical issues related to violence, and a number of them expressed their desire to repeat such scientific and practical workshops.
