ACT for Conflict Resolution, in cooperation with the Libyan Center for Commercial Arbitration, held a dialogue session as part of the Mediation Forum.

Titled “Mediation in Arab Legislation”

This was held on Thursday 05/23/2024 via Zoom, where this meeting was presented by Ms. Khawla Al-Zatayqi - Deputy of the Libyan Center for International Commercial Arbitration, and Ms. Fatima Ibrahim - Consultant on Legislative Reform, Mediation, and Restorative Justice - was hosted and she was interviewed by Mr. Mohammad Hadieh - Lawyer, mediator, arbitrator and founder of ACT.

The session addressed many topics, highlighting judicial mediation in Arab legislation, and comparing the powers of mediators under these laws, durations, the mentality of the mediator and his role. The power of mediators to suggest or impose solutions, distinguishing between training and transformative mediation.

This meeting will be followed up with other meetings to complete these topics.The meeting was attended by about 100 participants, where information, knowledge and experiences were exchanged between the participants and the session’s interlocutors, and all questions raised were answered.
