ACT Foundation hosts Ken Cloke to talk about mediation and peace dialogue
Ken Cloke speaks to ACT for Conflict Resolution’s audience in Palestine and the Arab world in two meetings during the month of February at the Mediation and Peace Forum.
Interviewed by Mohammad Hadieh, and attended by more than 180 people, about “How to Design, Organize and Facilitate Dialogues over Difficult, Divisive, and Dangerous Issues.” During which he presented a different philosophy of the importance of dialogue, the understanding of it, and how to talk about hot topics. He also presented dialogue facilitation techniques, and responsibilities of the facilitator. Additionally, he explained how to generate options, and questions that can be asked when there is a disagreement.
Ken also discussed and explained to the audience the topic of prejudice and political conflict questions for Mediators and Politics, and the fifty questions for a dialogue on conflict in the Middle East, in which he divided into topics, some of which relate to questions about the process, questions about the relationship, questions about history, and questions about the war.
He then moved on to the concept of building consensus, its definition and goals, its basic rules, obstacles, and results.
The second meeting focused on difficult issues such as dismantling enemies, stereotypes, and demonization, war, revenge, deconstructing enemies, and stereotypes.
