The twelfth dialogue session of the Arbitration Forum, entitled Cairo Regional Center Arbitration Rules 2024.
The ACT Organization for Conflict Resolution held the twelfth dialogue session of the Arbitration Forum under the title “Discussing the Arbitration Rules Issued by the Cairo Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration for the year 2024” on Sunday, January 21st, 2024 via Zoom application, out of its belief in the importance of shedding light on related topics. Arbitration is an alternative means of resolving disputes in Jerusalem and all Arab countries.
Through the Arbitration Forum, for an hour and a half, the ACT Organization hosted Dr. Mohamed Hafez, Assistant Director of the Center for Legal Affairs and Business Development of the Cairo Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration, in a dialogue session prepared by Professor Heba Thouqan, a lawyer and arbitrator in civil and commercial contract disputes from Palestine, in the presence of about 80 people. Participants and participants from various Arab countries.
Many topics were discussed in that dialogue session, including getting to know the Cairo Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration and learning about the most important amendments related to the arbitration rules issued by the Center for the year 2024, including the provisions related to the consolidation of arbitration claims, rejecting requests at an early stage of the procedures, the emergency arbitrator, and arbitration procedures completion, multiple contracts and funding arbitration from third parties, in addition to the issue of rejecting applications at an early stage of the proceedings.
Many participants specialized in the field of arbitration interacted with the amendments to the arbitration rules, which raised many important questions and topics and an exchange of opinions, experiences, and knowledge that had an impact on enriching the discussion.
We note that the ACT Organization for Conflict Resolution in Jerusalem works to organize periodic dialogue sessions on arbitration topics through the ACT Arbitration Forum, out of its belief in the importance of developing and strengthening the culture of resorting to arbitration among members of Palestinian and Arab society.
