The Eleventh Dialogue Session of the Arbitration Forum titled: Practical Applications in Drafting the Arbitration Clause and the Arbitration Submission Agreement

ACT Conflict Resolution held its eleventh dialogue session of the arbitration forum under the topic of: “Practical Applications in Drafting the Arbitration Clause and the Arbitration Submission Agreement” on Sunday the 19th of November 2023 virtually via Zoom application. This session stems from ACT’s belief in the importance of highlighting topics related to arbitration as an alternative method for dispute resolution in Jerusalem and the rest of Arab countries.

ACT, through this two-hour arbitration forum, hosted Attorney Zeina Mohammad Ahmad who is a holder of two master’s degrees in the fields of administrative and financial sciences and in private law. Zeina is an author of many law publications, moreover, she is a specialized lecturer in the fields of law and international commercial arbitration. Zeina is also a specialized coach in alternative dispute resolution methods. Advocate Hiba Thouqan, who is a Palestinian attorney and an arbitrator in civil and commercial contract disputes, prepared this dialogue session which was held in the attendance of 100 participants from multiple Arab countries.

This dialogue session in particular discussed plenty of axes including: The definition of arbitration clause, the types of arbitration clause, the difference between the arbitration clause and the arbitration submission agreement, and the core conditions that must be included in all forms of both the arbitration clause and the arbitration submission agreement. These axes related to the topic of this arbitration forum were clarified through practical and judicial applications.

Many attendees interacted with Zeina’s presentation of the practical applications, which in its turn, generated discussions revolving around plenty important topics. This session witnessed the exchange of knowledge and opinions between the attendees, and this has enriched the dialogue session with plenty of discussed topics.

ACT Conflict Resolution seeks to hold continuous dialogue sessions on topics related to arbitration through its arbitration forum, in hopes of developing and reinforcing the culture of resorting to arbitration within the society.
