During a meeting in Ramallah today to discuss the implications of the Supreme Court of Justice’s decision to hold local elections in the West Bank alone, representatives of the Civil Coalition to Promote Civic Peace and the Rule of Law emphasized the need to respect the rule of the Palestinian Judicial decisions.  By excluding Gaza in the local elections, the Coalition sees this would legitimize the Palestinian split, destabilize the civic peace and contribute to reinforcing division on the basis of political and geographic affiliation.
