ACT Conflict Resolution organization launches mediation forum
ACT conflict resolution organization in cooperation with the office of the lawyer Faten Ben Al-Ameen - Tunis, held the first evening of Ramadan on mediation on Friday 15-4-2022, entitled “The Professional Track of the Mediation”, which was presented by Ms. Faten Ben Al-Amin from Tunisia, and Mr. Mohamed Hadieh, In the presence of 54 participants from Palestine, Tunisia and various Arab countries.
The evening was divided into two parts. Ms. Faten started with an introduction to the concept of mediation, its advantages and importance as an alternative means to the judiciary to resolve disputes. It also focused on defining the role of the mediator and its importance in re-establishing relations between the conflicting parties and the most important skills that the mediator must possess for the mediation process to succeed.
In the second part, Mr. Mohamed Hadieh continued by highlighting how to build a mediator’s career path, clarifying how to practice mediation as a profession, and the skills that must be provided by a mediator, and he touched on the professions that can be practiced within the scope of mediation, and stressed the need to attend courses, seminars and workshops on mediation and register in the mediator’s registry. The meeting ended with opening the way for the participants to make interventions and questions on the subject.
It should be noted that a second evening will be held on mediation entitled Mediation and Other Mechanisms (Comparisons and Approaches) on Wednesday 20-4-2022.
