ACT Conflict Resolution and SAWASYA Palestine sign a project to support community policing in Ramallah and Tubas governorates
16 August 2021

ACT Conflict Resolution Association signed an agreement to implement the Community Policing Support Project in the Ramallah and Tubas Governorates, which comes within the framework of the Palestinian Civil Police’s implementation of the community policing strategy in Palestine by focusing on working in areas where Palestinian criminal jurisdiction weakens through the formation of local advisory committees from all components of the local community.

The main objective of the project is to contribute to increasing public awareness of the services provided by the Palestinian Civil Police in general and the community police in particular, in addition to supporting the national process of eliminating crime and violence in Palestine through the establishment of local advisory committees composed of all local community components. The project will include preparing a potential stakeholder analysis report to be part of the advisory committees, in addition to the local security assessment report, action plan and communication plan. The project will also include organizing training workshops for groups in 7 areas in Ramallah and Tubas governorates.

This signing will be followed by holding a series of meetings with the Director of the Community Policing Program to develop a mechanism for starting the implementation of the project and to ensure the achievement of its objectives to complement the efforts of ACT Association and the Palestinian Police in promoting civil peace in Palestine.
