Hiba Thouqan
Attorney practicing before Palestinian courts since 2018, accredited arbitrator in civil and commercial contract disputes with the Palestinian Ministry of Justice, and holder of a Master’s degree in Civil Law.
She is active as a researcher and trainer in the field of alternative dispute resolution, particularly arbitration, with professional and academic interest in developing legal knowledge and promoting alternative practices in conflict settlement.
She possesses academic and research expertise in legal studies through participation in peer-reviewed scientific conferences, and by preparing and publishing specialized legal papers in the fields of insurance, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution. She also contributed to supervising the issuance of the third volume of the Mediation and Arbitration Journal at ACT Institution.
During her tenure as Chair of the Legal Committee at ACT Institution, she managed the Arbitration Forum, overseeing the organization and delivery of more than twenty specialized dialogue sessions on arbitration topics, in addition to managing several local sessions, seminars, and conferences related to alternative dispute resolution.
She has experience in project coordination and management at ACT Institution for Conflict Resolution, contributing to the administration and implementation of projects connected to alternative dispute resolution, enhancing access to justice, empowering youth and women, reducing gender-based violence, and developing initiatives that strengthen community justice and civil peace.
