I. Background
ACT for Conflict Resolution invites qualified individual service providers/interpreters to submit quotations for providing simultaneous interpretation services for the International Steering Committee meetings under the project titled:
"Community Initiatives Based on Mediation Approaches to Enhance Dialogue and Social Cohesion in Palestinian Society"
(Funded by the European Union)
The project aims to support trained mediators in transforming the knowledge and skills they acquired in mediation and peacebuilding into practical community initiatives that foster dialogue, reduce tensions, and enhance social cohesion within local communities. This training enables participants to design actionable community initiatives grounded in the principles of mediation, dialogue, and constructive, peaceful conflict management.
The project includes meetings with the International Steering Committee, requiring simultaneous interpretation services to ensure seamless communication between the committee and the participants.
II. Objective of the Assignment
This assignment aims to contract a qualified simultaneous interpreter to provide interpretation services during the project's International Steering Committee meetings, ensuring effective communication among all participants.
III. Specifications & Details
- Total Hours: 6 hours
- Service Type: Simultaneous Interpretation
- Languages: Arabic – English
- Location: Ramallah – Remote (Online)
- Expected Timeline: October, November, and December 2026 (One session per month)
- Purpose: Interpreting the project's International Steering Committee meetings
IV. Scope of Work and Responsibilities
- Conduct a preparatory meeting with the ACT team to understand project objectives and key terminology.
- Provide accurate and professional simultaneous interpretation services during Steering Committee sessions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information accessed during the meetings.
V. Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in Arabic – English simultaneous interpretation.
- Familiarity with terminology related to mediation, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to strict deadlines and schedules.
- Previous experience interpreting for civil society organizations or internationally funded projects is preferred.
VI. Proposal Submission Requirements
Applicants must submit a proposal containing the following:
Curriculum Vitae (CV): Highlighting relevant professional experience and academic qualifications.
Detailed Financial Offer: Indicating the hourly rate inclusive of all taxes, quoted in Euros (€). The offer must remain valid for three (3) months from the submission date.

VIII. Contract Duration
The assignment covers simultaneous interpretation services during October, November, and December 2026, at a rate of one session per month. (Note: Section III & VIII aligned to Oct/Nov/Dec 2026 schedule).

X. General Provisions
- The interpreter is strictly bound to maintain the confidentiality of all information accessed during the assignment.
- The contract is subject to the administrative and financial regulations approved by ACT for Conflict Resolution and donor compliance requirements.
- ACT for Conflict Resolution reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal without stating reasons.
